Battle of the Bands

November 13th, 2010

Gather your musically talented FASG students together and compete in our first ever Battle of the Bands!  Bands will be competing during the Friday night dance at the convention in April.  Teachers, please let your students know of this new opportunity and email Erika.Witt@ocps.net if you have a band to enter.  We will need information on the music they will be playing as well, once they decide on their "set". 

Keep checking this site for more details in December.

UGASF Scholarship

October 3rd, 2009

United German American Society of Florida is once again offering scholarships to FASG seniors. Each winner will be awarded $1,000 towards studying German at college.

In order to be considered for the UGASF Scholarship, you must participate in FASG this year and submit documentation to Registrar Sara Hoefler (New School Prep, 130 E. Marks St., Orlando, FL 32803)

2011 Drug & Alcohol Policty MUST be printed out, signed and sent to Sara Hoefler

Dear Parents and Students:

Smoking is not permitted in any of the hotel facilities. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or illegal drugs taken while at the FASG convention. Any persons suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or in possession of the same, will be reported to hotel security and the local law enforcement and may be subject to arrest in acccordance with the local laws.

2011 T-Shirt Design Contest Open

April 30th, 2009

At every FASG convention, each participant gets a t-shirt designed by one of their peers. Individual students may submit a t-shirt design for this year's convention, Deutschland im Mittelalter, with a chance to be selected for this year's design.

Every submitted t-shirt must include the following: a visual representation of the convention theme and "FASG" or "Florida Association of Students of German" on the design.

2011 Convention, Theme Announced

The new dates are here for our 2011 FASG Convention!

The FASG Registrars and Daytona Beach Resort have confirmed April 28-30, 2011, as the dates for our 2011 FASG Convention.  This is a great opportunity to meet, compete with and work with students of German from across the entire State of Florida! 

The Theme for FASG 2011 is Deutsche Musik.

Here is the information you need to reserve rooms at DBR for the 2011 FASG Convention and Competition.  Note that the prices are the same as last year!

Reservations

The Group will make reservations by way of Rooming List, satisfactory to the Hotel and will reserve rooms via telephone. Please tell your phone representative that you are with FASG or German Student Group. Please send a copy of your rooming list to Sara Hoefler c/o New School of Orlando, 130 E. Marks St., Orlando, FL 32803.  Any changes to the rooming list should be made to the original rooming list and directed to the Convention Services Manager in writing when you first arrive.
